Bill Martin
In 1997, while a student at the University of Virginia, Bill Martin co-founded RagingBull.com, a financial website that went on to become popular during the dot-com era. After selling the site three years later, Bill began an equity research business and in 2004, co-founded InsiderScore, an institutional analytics service focused on insider and money flow related data. He launched Raging Capital Management in April 2006 with capital from friends and family. The firm’s net returns from its main strategy have outperformed the S&P 500, Russell 2000, and HFRX Equity Hedge Index since inception, and its AUM is now close to $650 million. Raging Capital invests in both emerging growth stocks and deep value investments. Bill is one of the rare fund managers who has excelled at both long- and short-side investing, and Raging Capital has generated alpha on the short side over the S&P 500 TR.
