Gary Claar
Gary was a founding partner of JANA Partners in 2001 and in 12 years of leadership he helped the firm build an outstanding track record investing in special situations and engaging as an activist investor. Gary kept a low profile while at JANA, “working the screens” as he puts it. In 2013, Gary left the firm to found a family office, Claar Advisors, and he currently teaches a value investing class at NYU Stern School of Business. At the 2016 Santangel’s Investor Forum, Gary will share an investment idea and speak about why he has moved his focus from investing in special situations to now focusing on investing in great businesses.
